B-Active@Rhoscolyn is an outdoor activities provider based on Anglesey. My client wanted a site to showcase his business, that would allow on-line registration of interest in his courses, and with excellent search engine optimisation to help him reach a wider client base. I developed a WordPress theme for him that provided all this, and that he can keep up-to-date himself.

Jane is the author of two dark Victorian mysteries. She had some clear ideas about what she wanted her site to look like, which was excellent. An early idea of mine sparked some discussion with an artisitic friend, and resulted in the swirl and the colour scheme. We then played around with several versions of the site before settling on the final result. Jane was a joy to work with, quickly becoming very committed to and involved in the project. The site went live in time for the launch of her second novel, and has since been updated to include a blog.

I spent most of 2008 living and working at Outdoor Alternative, a provider of group accommodation on the stunning Anglesey coast. They already had a website, but wanted to extend it and freshen it up. They didn’t want a “corporate” look, wanting to retain the friendly feel. I designed a simple and usable website based on the old colour scheme illustrated with photographs from family members, myself and a professional commissioned for the purpose. I also added an on-line availability calendar and several forms to help administer bookings. The site has successfully helped raise their profile on search engines. I continue to provide on-going maintenance and support.

I first started working with Kath four years ago. I designed a website for her just before her third book in the troll trilogy, Troll Blood came out. I have since re-designed her site twice to accommodate new books and to give it a fresh look, as well as providing her with on-going site maintenance, helping her start blogging, and sorting out email handling for her. The latest version of her site went live in April 2010.

Patricia is another author who I came to work with through my work on sites for Liz Kessler and Katherine Langrish. I first designed a site for her back in 2007, and then re-designed the site to accommodate her new historical thrillers, the Pimpernelles series. I continue to provide her with ongoing maintenance support.

Older Work

  • Dryomys Designs – my sister’s card company, and the start of it all. A fully-functioning e-commerce site for greeting cards and wedding stationary. Now sadly defunct.
  • Froward Point National Coastwatch – I designed the first website for them. They subsequently had a falling out amongst themselves and I became surplus to requirements in the resulting re-org!
  • Liz Kessler – my first “proper” client. I designed and built her first website when she was still a relatively unknown children’s author. She is now a very well known children’s author and has a flashy flash website. Sadly, as I don’t “do” flash, she had to go elsewhere for that…
